Hazards to people and environment

  • Danger: causes skin irritation.
  • Causes serious eye damage.
  • May cause respiratory irritation, especially from dust.
  • Harmful if swallowed.
  • Causes serious eye irritation.
  • Hazardous to aquatic life with long lasting effects.

Protective measures and behaviour rules

  • Avoid dust formation and breathing dust.
  • Use only outdoors or in well-ventilated areas.
  • Wear safety goggles with side protection.
  • Wear chemical-resistant gloves, e.g. nitrile or butyl rubber.
  • Wear protective work clothing and safety footwear.
  • Do not eat, drink or smoke while handling.
  • Wash hands before breaks and after work.
  • Keep container tightly closed in a dry, well-ventilated place.
  • Prevent release to drains and watercourses.

Emergency response

  • Remove affected persons from the danger area.
  • Move to fresh air after inhalation.
  • If exposure is severe or symptoms persist, get medical advice.
  • After skin contact, wash with plenty of soap and water.
  • Remove contaminated clothing and shoes immediately.
  • If in eyes, rinse cautiously with water for several minutes.
  • Remove contact lenses if present and easy to do.
  • Continue rinsing and call a doctor immediately.
  • If swallowed, rinse mouth and drink plenty of water.
  • Induce vomiting immediately only as stated in the SDS and get medical help at once.

First aid

  • Possible symptoms: cough and breathing difficulty.
  • Possible symptoms: excessive tearing and red skin.
  • Skin contact may lead to dermatitis.
  • Eye splashes may cause irreversible damage or blindness.
  • Do not give milk or alcohol after swallowing.
  • Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person.
  • Show the safety data sheet to the doctor.
  • Treatment is symptomatic.

Proper disposal

  • Avoid or minimise waste where possible.
  • Dispose of product waste via an authorised waste contractor.
  • Dispose of waste and containers safely according to local regulations.
  • Empty containers may contain hazardous residues.
  • Do not allow spills or waste to reach soil, drains or water.
  • Contaminated packaging must be disposed of as hazardous waste.
